Jamz Straps Product Review

Posted by

Everyone needs a cool strap. Sure you can be safe with the standard brown or black strap, but why? Life’s too short, get a fun strap! That thought process is what led me to Jamz website one late, late night. They have everything from subtle solid colors, to a medium crowd pleaser like; argyle, stripes or camo all the way to something crazy like skulls, chili peppers, hippos, owls and well the list goes on.

I went with the Stripes pattern. It’s a black strap with solid leather ends and features vibrant red blue and green stripes. I felt it set itself way apart from any other strap I’ve seen let alone owned, yet I wouldn’t blind the audience. Here’s a close up picture of the pattern itself;

First thing I did was take out some precise measuring tools, like a yardstick and vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ruler and get the dimensions. In real life the strap can go as long as 64.5” and as short as 36” and measures 2” wide.

The strap easily adjusted with a classic plastic slider commonly found on plenty of other straps. The back of the strap is the same fabric as the top, a durable, yet soft fabric. All this to say the strap breathed well and didn’t stick to my shirt or slide around like it just left Jiffy Lube. I was able to use it on all the strap buttons I had on various guitars from straplocks to the common strat-style buttons and everything in between.

All in all, Jamz does it right. They took the common everyday 2” strap and made it exciting again. Wears and adjusts the same as your boring strap just looks 10x cooler. Check the link below for pages of different designs as well as the option to contact an employee and make your own custom strap. Here’s a shot of it on my black Fender Jazz Bass.
